Red Hot Chili Peppers - Live @ Estadio Obras Sanitarias, Argentina, Buenos Aires, 26-01-1993
NOTE: This week marks the 30th anniversary of "Blood Sugar Sex
Magik" the fifth studio album by Red Hot Chili Peppers (released on
September 24, 1991). Produced by Rick Rubin, its musical style differed notably from the
band's previous album "Mother's Milk" (1989), reducing the use of
heavy metal guitar riffs and accentuating the melodic songwriting contributions
of guitarist John Frusciante. The album's subject matter incorporates sexual
innuendos and references to drugs and death, as well as themes of lust and
exuberance. The album went gold or platinum worldwide, sevenfold in the US with 7
million copies. Sound engineer Brendan O'Brien would become the driving force behind the
sound of Pearl Jam and the later Bruce Springsteen. Concert divided into separate tracks by Live Bootlegs Blog.
